Proximity Mine in Clandestine Plastic

The Proximity Mine is another approach putter in the “Land Mine” family. It’s a large, boxy putter but with a more overstable, angled rim and a thumb track on the top of the flight plate. This makes it a unique addition to the blunt approach discs that make up a lot of the Munitions Line. If you love your Land Mine but want a little more fade toward the target, try the Proximity Mine.

The real deal

In other plastics, this disc is just ok. In Clandestine, well, it's not leaving my bag any time soon.

A less glidey Glitch

At first I was conflicted on the Prox Mine. I wasn't really sure how it would differ from my Depth Charge. However, once I started throwing it like a Glitch, everything clicked. This is just a straight neutral throwing putter, with a tiny bit of fade before it runs out of steam (it's a 1 speed, it doesn't take long). Thrown on any angle, it gently rides the whole way. Thrown flat, it will remain flat, and will only start thinking about fading at the very end of the flight. Anything 250' and in is fair game for this, and the thumb track and flat top make it great for forehands as well.

Amazing stable to OS approach disc

The proximity mine in clandestine is an excellent option if you like an approach disc in firm and metal flake ‘champion-like’ plastic. This plastic makes for a more OS approach disc when compared to the proximity mine proto. Both complement each other very well. It’s great to have an approach disc you can power up on and trust it can fight out and fade. The plastic can feel slightly slick in the wet and cold PNW winters, but this will undoubtedly be a staple in the bag come spring and summer.

So predictable

Picked up the team stamp disc used it in my first tournament of the season. I usually use the bleaks. I got this out and was practicing with it and it was so stable so predictable I actually bagged the leaks and used this for the vast majority of my putts. Get a couple of 30 and 40 footers. I even used it for a double island hole because it was so stable and predictable.
