The new year has begun. In all honesty, we weren’t sure anybody was going to make it to 2023, but alas, the earth still flits through space and hasn’t lost its atmosphere yet, so here we are. With the new year comes the birth of our new SURVIVOR TEAM.

THE PREPPER TEAM

The concept for Team Doomsday has changed through the course of our first year. At first we were considering a limited number of team members. But we eventually decided that everybody who wants to represent and participate in the growth of Doomsday Discs should be invited to do so. Thus we created a “Prepper Team Pack” that could be purchased and that was the doorway onto the team. We call this entry level the Prepper Team. Since we want to have a disc golf brand that feels decentralized, with the team participating in as many ways as possible, it felt right to leave the doors open. If you want to join Team Doomsday as part of the Prepper Team, you can still do that at anytime, and we invite you to go for it. After all, you never know when it will be too late.

THE SURVIVOR TEAM

For 2023, we’ve reviewed three ways in which existing Prepper Team members have participated in the growth of the Doomsday Discs brands, and we’ve selected a Survivor Team based on the following criteria:

1 – Level of participation on the Doomsday Discord Server

2 – How many times the team member’s promo code was used to purchase discs on the Doomsday Discs web shop

3 – If the player hosted a Doomsday Demolition event for players in their local area

If a player excelled in one or more of those three areas, then they were bumped to the Survivor Team. We figure that not everybody feels comfortable participating in the same way, but each of those three areas are important. Even if a person didn’t share their promo code a lot, but constantly interacted on the server, providing value insight and feedback, then they made it. Or maybe some players don’t participate much on social media, but threw a Doomsday Demolition event for their local league– that’s good too.

WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF THIS YEAR, OR NEXT YEAR?

We will evaluate both the Prepper Team and the Survivor Team again at the end of 2023. If the Prepper Team grows a LOT more than expected in 2023, then we may even evaluate again in the summer in order to bump people to the Survivor Team who are really contributing to the Doomsday Discs brand. We don’t want anybody to feel left behind. So, if you’re still part of the Prepper Team (maybe because you only recently joined) or you want to join the Prepper Team right now, then there are plenty of chances to move on up. We’ll continue to add new players to the Prepper Team and look forward to growing the team as well as structuring team levels along the way, as we learn and listen to what the players want.
